Privacy Policy — GDMaestro
Last updated: 2026-08-21
This policy describes how Asymptopia Ltd ("Asymptopia", "we", "us") handles personal data in connection with GDMaestro (the "Software"), our proprietary Model Context Protocol server for the Godot engine. It is written to match what actually happens when you buy and run the Software. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Asymptopia Ltd is the data controller; our registered details are at the foot of this page.
Summary
The Software runs on your own machine and sends us no telemetry about your work — no analytics, no usage data, no project contents. Separately, we process a small amount of personal data to issue you a license key: your email address always, and — for the paid Virtuoso and Maestro tiers — payment details, because a one-time purchase and issuing you a license key necessarily involves both. The Free tier only requires your email address; no payment is collected. Payment for paid tiers is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
The Software Itself
GDMaestro is object-code you install and run locally. In normal use it does not transmit your projects, your prompts, your GDScript, or any telemetry to us or to any server we operate.
-
Local usage log. The Software keeps an
aggregate usage log — tool names, success or failure, and
error codes — in a local file on your machine to help you and our
support team diagnose problems. It never contains file contents or
eval code, and it is never transmitted anywhere. You can read it with
the built-in usage-report tool and choose to forward it to support
yourself; that manual copy-paste is the only way any of it leaves your
machine. You can turn it off entirely by setting the
GODOT_MCP_NO_USAGE_LOGenvironment variable. - Godot resources. Documentation search and asset-library features fetch content directly from Godot's own servers at your request. Those requests go to Godot, not to Asymptopia, and are subject to Godot's / the Godot Foundation's own policies.
Personal Data We Process When You Sign Up or Purchase
We process the following in order to issue license keys and, for paid tiers, to sell and support the Software:
- Your email address — to deliver your license key (Apprentice, Virtuoso, or Maestro tier), to send purchase and support correspondence, and to identify your license records. This is collected for every tier, including the free one.
- Purchase and billing metadata (Virtuoso and Maestro tiers only) — the Stripe customer and order identifiers, tier, and status (paid, refunded) that let us issue keys. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number; Stripe processes the card.
- Your license records — the license key we issue and its tier, linked to your email.
- Support correspondence — anything you send us by email when you contact support.
Why We Process It, and Our Legal Basis
- To perform our contract with you (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)): issuing and validating your license key — including the free key you request under our Free-tier license terms — taking payment for paid tiers, delivering updates, and providing support.
- To comply with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)): keeping tax and accounting records of paid purchases.
Processors and Third Parties
We rely on a small number of service providers that process personal data on our behalf, under their own privacy terms:
- Stripe — payment processing for the paid Virtuoso and Maestro tiers (not used for the Free tier). Stripe handles your card details as an independent controller for its own compliance purposes; see Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — hosting for our licensing endpoint, the database that holds your license and download records, and storage of the release builds we serve; see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — to send your license key and purchase-related emails; see Resend's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
International Transfers
Some of our providers (for example, Stripe, Cloudflare, and Resend) may process data outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by an adequacy decision or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
Retention
We keep your license records for as long as your license may remain valid — which for a delivered build is perpetual — and keep purchase records (for paid tiers) for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally at least six years). Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your query and our records of it.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. These rights have limits — for example, we may need to keep purchase records to meet legal obligations even if you ask us to delete them. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children
GDMaestro is a developer tool sold to individuals and organisations for their work; it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Software and our processing change. Material changes will be reflected in an updated "Last updated" date above.
